Router configuration

Gamco supports Billion routers.(http://www.webafrica.co.za/kb/adsl/billion_router_setup.html)

Use the following steps when setting up a billion router

1. Type in 192.168.1.254 into your internet browser, this will take you to the login screen for the router.
2. Username:admin
Password:admin
3. You can then click on quickstart, leave all the default settings intact, just type in your adsl username and
password. once the username and password is typed in click on save config, then restart, and finally you can log out.
4. Make sure that the adsl line running from the wall is clipped into the router on the adsl port.
If the router is configured propely, the dsl link and the PPP/internet lights will be on and it will be steady.
5. Make sure that the pc is set to obtain IP adresse's automatically, and that the ethernet cable is plugged into the pc
and the router propely. (THIS STEP DOES NOT IMPLY IF YOU ARE CONNECTING WIRELESSLY TO THE ROUTER)
6. You can then open up your browser and test your internet connection.

Wireless setup for adsl routers

1. Repeat steps 1 and 2, then select wireless and enable it.
2. Select the configuration, then select lan, then click on wireless security, and select the security mode to be WEP.
3. If you want security enabled on the router enter either 10 digits or alphabets under key 1
4. You can then apply the changes and save to config and re-boot the router.
